When to go

The Sahara has two seasons that feel like spring and two that don't. Every tour runs year-round; the season decides how we pace it.

Where the roads end

Two ergs, one Sahara

An erg is a true sea of sand — Morocco has only a handful, and our routes reach the two that matter. Both sit on the far western edge of the Sahara, a day's drive from Marrakech across the High Atlas.

Erg Chebbi · Merzouga

Dunes rise up to 150 m above the rocky hamada in a field about 28 km long and 5–7 km wide, lining the Algerian border. Reached by road, then by camel to camp at sunset.

Erg Chegaga · M'hamid

Wilder and emptier. No paved road: two hours by 4×4 across stony reg from M'hamid, out again over the dry bed of Lake Iriqui to Foum Zguid.
